Homework clarification - not to be stressful

Please do not stress about French Homework!

What I have provided are just ideas for those looking to further support learning french at home. I also use it as a way to foster school-home communication....children love to share what they are learning! I hope these suggestions are helpful for the many parents who approached me at our Open House requesting ways to support learning in French.

Many parents last year found watching a short video on Minitfo once a week and sharing our Youtube songs are what they made work in their family weekly. Many other such combinations with the occasional variety (i.e., review of numbers, vocabulary). If you choose not to do French homework at this time, that us OK too!

As suggested......

- explore French websites.
- watch a French video with parental permission (Ex. Toupie et Binou, Caillou, Dora, Diego, minitfo website)
- sing our youtube songs posted for Sept-Oct (See side bar).
- practise counting in French. (1-20)
- make flashcards of new French words
- read French library book
- learn two new words found in your French library book (Use a dictionary or translation on the computer to look up a couple of words with mom and dad)
- keep a set of new French words on cue cards in a word box
- share The Our Father prayer in French (Notre Père)
